School Trips

There is a joy in discovering the mountains, nature and adventure, especially when you are young and you do not have the cynicism of grown-ups. We started running school trips in 2007. Friends who knew us well asked us why we wanted to do school trips and work with young adults?  ” You are adventurers and wanderers working with 14 – 21 year olds is not your forte”  ”You are doing very well promoting the kind of trips you do why dont you focus on that”. Friends were right in their perpective we had a good booming business organizing treks, mountaineering and cycling trips which were keeping us more than busy and taking us all over the Western Himalayas. Then why did we want to work with young adults. Here’s what we thought :

We asked ourselves – do we care about our lifestyle and the choices we have made, do we care about the environment that we live in, do we care about conserving what we have. We knew that these were important things close to our heart and we cared for them. We also knew to achieve this we had to make our contribution by working at the grass roots and that meant we work with young adults in their formative years.

Every year hence we have worked with quite a few groups of school students from India and abroad between April – June. Along the way we also realized how much fun it is watching children grow – frustrating too every once in a while icon smile School Trips . But one things for sure we love working with children and we and our camps are complete hits with our participants or at least thats what they write on their feedback when their trips end. Most of them come back every year with more of their friends.

Another important reason why we started working with young adults is because of a friend called Amol Khante who inspired us and made us realize the importance of investing time, effort and energy in our future generations and see our wilderness areas survive. Who is Amol Khante well thats a completely different story which we shall restrict from talking about here but in short Amol Khante hails from the Buldana district of Maharastra, lives in Nagpur and is one amazing outdoor educator and activist. He does experiential eduction program in Central India and the Himalayas with a lot of schools and runs an organisation called CAC Allrounder. We have know him for many many years and we think he is just as mad as we are when it come to adventure and education.

All our programs operate on a simple philosophy: ” what you love you wont destroy!!!” and the focus is on introducing children to various adventure activities and creating a bond with nature and outdoors.
