MANALI - LAHAUL - SPITI - KINNAUR - SHIMLA BIKING TRIP


Biking through some of the remotest parts of Himachal Pradesh, this trip gives a myriad of experiences. You start from Manali, go through alpine forests and meadows till you cross Rohtang Pass into the more arid Lahaul valley. At Gramphoo, you take a deviation on to the Spiti Road. You make your way pass Kunzum La, the gateway to Spiti. Spiti is the cultural and religious mirror of earstwhile Tibet. Ancient monasteries dotted across brown valleys, interspersed with green villages, its High Himalayas at its best. From here, it gradually gets green as you enter Kinnaur, a valley that is mentioned in ancient Indian scriptures. You follow the Sutlej through the alpine meadows and forests of Kinnaur till you reach Shimla, the former Summer capital of British Raj.

Day 01: Arrive in Manali. Spend the day acclimatizing with your bike.

Day 02: Manali - Marhi

Day 03: Marhi - Chatru

Day 04: Chatru - Batal

Day 05: Batal - Takcha

Day 06: Takcha - Kibber via Kee

Day 07: Kibber - Komik

Day 08: Komik - Langcha - Tabo

Day 09: Tabo - Nako

Day 10: Nako - Jangi

Day 11: Jangi - Sangla

Day 12: Sangla to Shimla 25 Kms by bike and drive the rest of the 200 Kms.
