MANALI-LEH HIMALAYAN SAFARI
This is a 7-day popular safari over one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Crossing over high mountain passes there are some spectacular views of snow capped peaks, rugged terrain and old monasteries.
REGION COVERED: Manali, Rohtang Pass, Keylong, Jispa, Baralacha La, Sarchu, Lachung La, Tanglang La, Leh, Hemis, Shey, Thiksey, Spituk, Phyang and Khardung La - the highest motorable pass in the world.
SEASON: July to September
MAX. ALTITUDE: 5600m
NUMBER OF DAYS: 6 days
Day 01: Arrive in Manali.
Day 02: Manali - Kilan Sarai (208 km)
Duration: 9 hours
Travel by jeep from Manali to Keylong via Rohtang Pass (3980m). On arrival at Sarchu, check in at the camp.
Day 03: Kilan Sarai - Leh (251 km)
Duration: 9 hours
Travel to Leh over Lachang la (5065m) and Tanglang la (5360m). On arrival, check in to the hotel.
Day 04: Leh
Spend the day on an excursion to two of Ladakh's famous monasteries - Thiksey and Hemis. On the way back, visit the Shey Palace.
Day 05: Leh
Visit the Khardong la pass, the highest motorable pass in the world at 5600m. Return to Leh by late afternoon.
Day 06: Depart from Leh
