NAGGAR - MALANA - BIJLI MAHADEV
The trek begins at Naggar after a short drive from Manali of the left bank of River Beas. After crossing the Chanderkhani Pass (3600m), is the unique Malana village, famous for its distinct and very reserved social culture. Care and respect for local customs is essential. The trek then continues to the hill-top temple at Bijli Mahadev.

Day 01: The participants arrive in Manali.
Day 02: Manali - Rumsu Thach (2600m)
Duration: 3 hours
The team will be transported by jeep to Naggar (21 km) from Manali. Delightfully situated on a wooded slope and commanding an extensive view of the valley, it is famous for its temples, ancient castle, and the Roerich Art Gallery. From Naggar, it's a gradual climb up to Rumsu.
Day 03: Rumsu - Nauya Tapru (below Chanderkhani Pass)
Duration: 3 hours
It's a steady and gradual climb on the second day to just below the Chanderkhani Pass at Nauya Tapru. Legend has it that thousands of years ago, Jamlu (the presiding deity of Malana) was carrying a basket containing the Gods of Kullu. On the top of the pass, when he opened the basket, a very strong wind blew and the Gods fell all over the Kullu valley to their present abodes. Since then, the valley is known as "the valley of Gods".
Day 04: Nauya Tapru - Malana (2651m)
Duration: 5 hours
On the top of Chanderkhani Pass (3600m) one can have a striking view of Deo Tibba, overlooking the Malana glen and other snow-capped mountains on the Spiti border. From there one descends to Malana village. Malana comprises of two parts about a hundred yards apart.
Day 05: Malana - Jari (1524m)
Duration: 4 hours
Today's trek is a descent to the town of Jari from where the trail branches towards Kullu the next day.
Day 06: Jari - Matikochar (1876m)
Duration: 5 hours
The trail climbs gradually into the valley leading to Bijli Mahadev. The path takes you through pine forests and quaint mountain streams till you arrive at the campsite.
Day 07: Matikochar - Jana (2040m)
Duration: 4 hours
Today's path is mostly flat with few and gradual ups and downs. The village of Jana is on the ridge of the Bijli Mahadev hill.
Day 08: Jana - Bijli Mahadev - Manali
Duration: 5 hours
The last day's trail first winds up gradually through thick forests to the ancient temple of Bijli Mahadev from where you get fabulous view of the entire Kullu valley. Spend some time at the temple then descend on the other side of the hill to the roadhead from where a vehicle will pick you up and bring you back to Manali.
