At the head of Markha valley, Kang Yatse II is a non-technical or trekking peak for those who have little mountaineering knowledge. Set above the vast Nimaling pasture, it’s a beautiful peak. the nearest town is Leh, the capital of Ladakh. KY II can be classified as a F on the Alpine grade.
The peak also has a Kang Yatze I which is 6400m and form a harder climbing objective for the experienced mountaineer the last 500 mts of the climb is where the crux lies and would be classified as a D on the alpine grade and expect a good ice wall of 60 – 75 deg to ascend. Day 01: Arrival in Leh
Day 02: Drive to Shang Sumdo and camp
Day 03: Trek up to Chokirmo
Day 04: Trek up to base of Kong Maru La
Day 05: Trek up to Base Camp at Nimaling, after crossing Kong Maru La
Day 06: Acclimatization day around Nimaling
Day 07: Proceed from Nimaling, establish and ferry load to Advanced Base Camp
Day 08 & 09: Summit attempt and back to Base Camp at Nimaling
Day 10: Trek back to Chokirmo from Base Camp
Day 11: Trek back to Shang Sumdo and drive back to Leh
