Mountaineering Courses

We have been climbing big mountains across Himachal, Ladakh, Gharwal, Kumaoun and Sikkim for 15 years and these have not been once a year trips. On an average we spend 250 – 300 days in the Himalayan wilderness guiding trips, working rescue posts on Rohtang and Koksar or pursuing personal adventures. We have a lot of first hand mountaineering experience gained on some of the hardest mountains the world has to offer.

Back in the day when we mountain tramps we also taught mountaineering at various mountaineering institutes across India. This we did inbetween personal climbing trips and the reason we did it was because we loved to teach mountaineering and introduce people to this amazing lifestyle.

Hence it was only natural when started above14000ft that was essentially a mountain guiding company we decided to retain teaching mountaineering, an activity that we have always loved and is close to our heart.

We have run the 15 day Basic Mountaineering Course for people with little or no experience in mountaineering for many years now. The course is operated on one of the many glaciers of the Western Himalayas. During the program, participants are introduced to the basics of ice and snow craft they learn how to live, work and play on high Himalayan peaks. You  practice under the supervision of a qualified instructor and at the end of the course we will attempt climbing a 5000 – 6000m peak. The peak to be climbed is usually decided in the field by the lead instructor based on the group dynamics.

Apart from the Basic mountaineering course. We have run many closed group intensive 25 days Technical Mountaineering Courses  for various Universities, Clubs and Mountaineering associations from around the world. A few who have attended these programs have also gone on to climb some of the highest mountains in the world. These custom designed programs are usually small group programs and in case you want to know more about these kindly write to us.
