EXPERIENCE LIFE, ABOVE14000ft
Not all those who wander are lost - J.R.R. Tolkien
With over 25 years of backcountry trekking, mountaineering, ski touring, cycling, paragliding, wildlife and birding experiences in India - outdoors and adventure to us is a way of life and the Himalayas are our backyard. We specialise in organising a whole range of small group adventure journeys for the traveller in you.
Welcome to our backyard; let your adventure begin!
For eons, explorers, adventurers, spiritual seekers and ordinary people have been drawn to the the most revered mountain range in the world – The Himalayas! They come here to discover new frontiers, new challenges or a new version of themselves. The Himalayas, after all, challenge your notions of limitations, endurance, survival and above all, yourself.
We have something to offer everyone, whether you are looking for your first outdoor experience or you are a seasoned alpinist, aiming to put up a new route on one of the many unclimbed peaks of the Indian Himalayas. All the adventures we offer are small group, high quality, exclusive experiences custom designed to suit your needs and requirements.
Some of the best Alpinists in the world trust us with their expeditions!

Leave No Trace and Us

We have a strong environmental focus on all our adventures. Ever since we started in 1998 we have practised and taught the Leave No Trace Ethics to all our guests.

Alpinism, minimalism, an adventurous spirit, simplicity, a spiritual connection with the mountains and conservation of our environment are at the very core of all our adventures and all the things that define us.
My name is Kaushal Desai. I am the founder of Above14000ft. I have spent the last 25 years climbing, skiing, paragliding, trekking and cycling across Himachal, Ladakh, Zanskar, Garhwal, Kumaon, Kashmir and Sikkim and have extensive first hand knowledge of these areas.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with people who have a passion for alternative lifestyles, permaculture, the outdoors and adventure. Feel free to drop me a line with your adventure plans and maybe I could help you with some ideas.
