CB 13 Expedition Overview
CB 13 expedition is a popular option with climbers who have sound mountaineering knowledge and want to climb in Himachal Pradesh. CB 13 is magnificent jagged peak on the Dhaka glacier that is visible from Chandertal.
Our CB 13 expedition approaches the peak from Manali. We drive to Batal on the Manali Kaza road. The trek to the base camp from the road head is a short day's walk through gradual terrain to reach the snout of the South Dhaka glacier. The Base Camp, set on a rocky patch near the glacier gives great views of CB 12 and CB 14.
The CB 13 expedition climb can be classified as a D on the Alpine Grade and some rock, ice, and mixed climbing might be required depending on the season and the snow conditions. Between Camp 1 and Camp 2, one can see the debris of the 1968 IAF plane-crash strewn all over.
