Tandem Paragliding is flying in a Paraglider built for two people. The pilot and passenger fly front and back, with the pilot in the rear. Tandem flights are a great way to experience the thrill of flying in a Paraglider. Passengers can even take the controls in the flight and learn about flying a Paraglider throughout the flight. The harness is extremely comfortable and the low flying speed of a Paraglider makes takeoffs and landings gentle and slow.
Tandem paragliding is the best way to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the beautiful Kullu valley or the spectacular Dhauladar range in complete safety with your expert pilot – and no previous experience is needed on your part. For the uninitiated - Paraglider is a parafoil wing that looks like a parachute. Paragliders launch like a large kite, and once in the air they glide and soar depending on the competency level of the pilot. Steering is done through control lines like a ram air parachute.
Tandem Paragliding in Manali
The Manali or Kullu valley is also known as the valley of gods. It offers some spectacular locations for your first tandem flight, depending on the weather conditions you can choose the most ideal site, and the transport will get us to the launch site, where you will be briefed about the flight, some of the sites we use are Phatru (2600 m) in Solang nulla, Gulaba 2800 m, Marhi 3100 m, Dobhi 2300m, Jana 2400m and Raison.
Flight durations in Manali and can vary between 5 - 15 minutes depending on the day and the conditions. No flying happens between 15th July to 15th September every year.

Tandem Paragliding in Bir-Billing
Billing (2300m) the legendary and probably the best paragliding site in India is located at the beginning of the spectacular Dhauladar range in the Kanga valley, we will start the drive up to the launch site from the village of Bir, a 14km drive up a small mountain road, once on launch your pilot will brief you about the flight and take off procedure, and then we takeoff. The landscape around Billing is ideal for paragliding and thermal updrafts are plentiful, and you will soon find yourself soaring upwards in the company of Himalayan griffon and maybe Lammergeier, leaving the take off site far below, we will then fly cross country, and then slowly head down to our landing zone, by the pretty Tibetan colony of Bir. Flying times can vary depending on what you want.
Once you reach Bir, one of our experienced pilots will meet you. A short briefing later, you'll be on your way gliding through the sky.

Tandem Paragliding in Dharamshala
Indu Nag is a local temple situated on the Triund ridge. You can see gliders taking off through the day and soaring high. Paragliding at Indu Nag is great if you do not have the time to make a day trip to Bir or want to check if paragliding is for you. Indu Nag is a half-hour drive from the main Dharamshala town along the khanyara road.
We think, it's the best way to get a lot of Dharamshala sightseeing done in one go!
