Camp Manali overview

Camp Manali is the ideal introduction to camping in Himachal, the Himalayas and adventure with adequate doses of camping, hiking and nature-based experiential activities. Beyond these a few leadership and team building activities are an integral part of our camp. Competitive, non-competitive and co-operative adventure-based activities are not only great fun for children but also help them discover new strengths and skills in themselves and their friends. In addition, they will learn about the flora and fauna of the Western Himalayas.

It is not all-work-and-no-play either. We understand the apprehensions of being away from home, parents and pets. So all activities come with large servings of fun. Invariably, these lead to some very strong friendships that last long after the camp.

Why should you send your child / student to Camp Manali?

We think today's education system is a maze of tests, exams, grades and tuitions, over-ridden by performace pressure. On a larger scale, this creates a host of short and long term problems such as bad fitness levels, obesity, depression and loss of imagination. However, (being grown-ups now, though much against our will) we perfectly understand the anxiety of parents to have their children do well in academics. So what we aim at are a few days of the Summer Holidays, those blissfull school-free months.

While new-age schools offer everything from horse-riding to ballet classes, we think our raw playground with manicured meadows by God has a environment and adventure is something that you can learn about and relate to only in the outdoors. And that is what we do at Camp Manali.

Why outdoor programs?

At Camp Manali Outdoor experiential programs are a great way to discover one's life skills, leadership skills, team spirit and capacity to cope away from the comforts of the known. Providing students with opportunities to learn outdoor and adventure skills is also a common goal, as is the idea of simply giving them the experience of living out of doors.

It is an established fact that adventure/outdoor programs in association with nature improves and develops individual performance in various spheres of life and improves one's abilities to cope with stressful and adverse conditions beyond the camp, in their regular lives.
